Brian Curley is a principal with Lee Schmidt in Schmidt-Curley Design, Inc., a Scottsdale, Ariz.-based golf course architecture firm making a name for itself in the U.S. and overseas. The firm has built over 150 courses since its inception in 1997, including several in Asia and Europe, and works with golf legends like Nick Faldo, Jack Nicklaus and Pete Dye. The firm specializes in site-adaptive courses, but one of its strong suits is designing layouts that will be less costly to maintain.
